Are You Ready to Be a Coach?
You could call a Beachbody Coach a fitness coach, but what does it take to be a Team Beachbody Coach? Do you have to be fit and get certified to be a coach?
You know, I was half way through P90X before I heard about the “coaching opportunity”. I kept seeing the commercials at the end of my workouts on my P90X dvds. I still didn’t quite get what they meant about coaching. What I did know is I thought I could sell these programs. They were poplular, well -advertised, and brought results.
I contacted Beachbody to ask about a wholesale opportunity to sell on eBay or perhaps a Beachbody affiliate program. That’s when I learned that I couldn’t sell the P90X on eBay and they didn’t have a P90X affiliate program. I learned that I could partner with the company as a Team Beachbody Coach and retail their brand name in home fitness programs for a 25% commission.
The retail commission is what I wanted. I knew P90X was selling itself. I didn’t even know that other brand recognized fitness programs such as Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Jam were Beachbody products. The whole coaching opportunity was getting more exciting. I found out that I could not only make money retailing, but could also get paid bonuses. I learned about residual income…but then, the doubt came.
Who did I think I was to become a Team Beachbody Coach? I wasn’t a Person Trainer. I wasn’t certified in any type of fitness training. How could I possibly be a fitness coach? I wasn’t even in shape!
Guess what? There’s nothing mysterious about being a coach. All you do is commit to improving your fitness and sharing your experiences with others.
Sharing your experiences deepens your own commitment to fitness. It’s funny how it works that way. You learn about Beachbody by becoming part of the coaching community. You are well supported with a network of coaches and provided with on-going training. You do not need to become a Personal Trainer or get certified in the fitness industry.
So, back to that question about being fit. My answer? Get a fast start by signing up to be a coach as soon as you can. Your story gets bigger as your body gets smaller. Friends, family, and strangers will naturally ask you what you are doing. You are a work in progress, a walking billboard.
