ChaLean Extreme Burn Circuit 1 and Turbo Fire HIIT 15

Mix up your Beachbody workouts! I combined Chalean Extreme Burn Circuit 1 with a Turbofire HIIT 15 to get a great workout for strength and cardio.

Today is a rest day, and my glutes are thanking me for that! Yesterday, I started my workout session with Burn Circuit 1 of ChaLean Extreme. This workout uses combination moves to primary target your legs, chest, and posterior deltoids.

The Burn phase of ChaLean Extreme practices lifting heavy enough to fail between the tenth and twelth rep. Chalene also throws in some push ups and breakdowns sets which are done super slow.

Following Burn Circuit, I put my Turbo Fire HIIT 15 class in the dvd player to see if I could put into place this crazy hybrid idea that has been in my head for a while. I got through the HIIT routine and actually felt great.

I know my fitness has improved through Beachbody fitness dvd programs. I have lost weight and inches. People who have known me for a long time comment on my appearance, but the truth about my improved health and fitness is in how I feel.

The first time I did Burn Circuit 1 was rough. The first time I did HIIT 15, I thought I was going to pass out right there on my living room floor. Now, I can do both workouts back to back. I feel like an athlete in training. Each workout is tough, but I feel my personal progress throughout the process.

I also have better control of my nutrition these days. Like every American, I have been known to indulge during the holidays. For me, it would start at the end of October with Halloween candy…love those little chocolate candy bars on everyone’s desk for about three weeks. Then, you got to eat a little bit of everything and have some seconds on Thanksgiving. Then, because there is so much leftover from Thanksgiving Day, I would eat out of control for about another week.

If that was not enough, my birthday, Christmas and New Year’s Eve all pile before the close of the year. Bottom line: poor eating habits for about 8-12 weeks straight, weight gain, guilt, promises that I will start a fitness program at the beginning of the year. Stop the insanity! It is not that way for me now. I try to eat sensibly, continue a workout program, and stay mindful of my health through the holidays.

I am not always perfect. I may still indulge but not so much I bulge! I got an early birthday present this year….a pair of red Niki’s specifically for my workouts. My workouts are important to me now…as important as brushing my teeth in the morning and making sure the door is locked before I go to bed at night. That is what Beachbody can do for you.
