Donna Richardson Joyner: Ten Steps for Your New Year’s Fitness Resolution
Donna Richardson Joyner, creator of Beachbody’s Body Gospel and member of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition was recently interviewed by USA Today about the excuses people give for not working out. Richardson Joyner says she doesn’t accept any of the excuses and people don’t work out because they haven’t made it a priority.
In the USA Today article “No Time to Workout? Donna Richardson Joyner Disagrees,” Richardson Joyner lists the following ten steps for planning your new year’s fitness resolution:
- Create an action plan.
- Start with Small Steps
- Combine Healthful Eating with Physical Activity
- Be Patient
- Set New Short-Term and Long-Term Goals
- Keep a Journal and Write Down Your Vision
- Challenge Yourself When You Hit a Plateau in Weight Loss
- Be Committed and Productive So You See Results
- Have Positive Talks with Yourself
- Reward Yourself as You Reach Your Goals
