Turbo Fire ChaLean Extreme and a Little P90X

Ok, so maybe I’m crazy but I have decided to combine Turbo Fire and ChaLean Extreme for the first twelve weeks of my hybrid program and then, work P90X into the last eight weeks of the Turbo Fire schedule. I just kicked it off tonight with Day one of Turbo Fire which is the Fire 30 and Stretch 10 classes.

I will post my weekly schedule at the beginning of each week. This is what it looks like for week one:

Monday – Fire 30, Stretch 10
Tuesday – Burn Circuit 1, HIIT 15, Stretch 10
Wednesday – Rest
Thursday – Burn Circuit 2, Fire 30, Stretch 10
Friday – Burn It Off!
Saturday – Burn Circuit 3, Fire 30, Stretch 10
Sunday – Core 20, Stretch 40

In my last post, I talked about my new gym (HITT room) and the improvements I made to my exercise area like adding a mirror at a lower level. As I said before, mirrors really help you correct your form. Proper form helps you get the most out of each exercise and stretch. It also helps prevent injuries.

As I was working out tonight, I thought about the guys at the gym who grunt in the mirror as they work their biceps and other beach muscles. I cannot blame them because the mirror helps them stay focused. It also speaks loud and clear on where you are progressing and where you still need work as far as your body is concerned.

If you have some privacy in your home gym, I recommend wearing shorts and a sports bra for women or no shirt for men. This will allow you to see the bare truth as you workout. You will be reminded of why you are giving so much effort to your Turbo Fire workouts. You will notice right away whether you have put on a pound or two. Mirrors help you be your own personal trainer.

On a lighter note, Tony Horton’s new book will be released in bookstores and online on December 21st. You can pre-order it at Amazon and save about half. He wrote a book on fitness and nutrition. If you are a P90X fan or just want to know his philosophies, you might want to check it out. Just search for Tony Horton at an online bookstore.

Tomorrow’s workout is going to be a strength and HIIT combination. I want to have enough energy to to lift heavy, so I am going to do the Burn Circuit first. It has been a while since I have done ChaLean Extreme. I am really looking forward to it.
