Shakeology Has Wild Grass

Add this to your diet. Shakeology has wild grass. Wheat grass, barley grass, oat grass, and kamut add a host of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and protein.

I never really thought about eating grass, wild or otherwise. I was surprised to learn that our popular health shake (Shakeology) has wild grass in it. When I started learning about the nutritional benefits of these grasses, I could see why Beachbody wanted them on the Shakeology ingredient list.

You’ve probably heard about wheat grass, barley grass, and oat grass. I’ll get to talk about those in a while, but I first wanted to ask if you are familiar with a wild grass called Kamut?

Kamut is a certified organic Khorasan Wheat that was imported from Egypt about 60 years ago. Kamut is produced for Beachbody in Montana through natural means.

It is an ancient grain that has not been modified by modern agricultural methods which makes its nutritional content denser. Kamut juice powder in Shakeology is high in protein, selenium, zinc, thiamin, phosphorous, magnesium, copper, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, vitamin E and complex carbos. Wow!

Another wild grass in Shakeology is wheat grass. The wheat grass juice powder in Shakeology is high in chrlorophyll, calcium, magnesium, and potasium. Wheat grass has a lot of vitamins and minerals as well as 17 amino acids.

Then, there’s barley grass. The barley grass juice powder in Shakeology has 18 amino acids, including the eight essential amino acids. It is rich in vitamins and minerals like potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, phsophorous, zinc, beta carotene, vitamin C and….the B vitamins B-1, B-2, B-5, B-6, and B-9.

Wild grass is starting to sound good, huh? The fourth wild grass in Shakeology is oat grass. The oat grass juice powder in Shakeology is also rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Studies have shown that both oat grass and barley grass may be beneficial in lowering total and LDL cholesterol.

I’m not sure I would go out into a field of wild grass and start grazing with deer, cows, and bison. I also don’t think I could put wild grass in a juicer and make a daily nutritional drink that I could stomach, but it easy to see the nutritional benefits of wild grass in your diet. I get the benefits of wheat grass, oat grass, barley grass and kamut in a yummy chocolate shake every morning. I don’t even think about eating wild grass.
